Face Consultants PTY Ltd hosted two seminars in Australia in the last quarter of 2014 with the message: “Why Do Floors Fail?”
It asked the questions:
- Is concrete slab design or construction important to you or your business?
- Is there an opportunity for you to lower costs, and improve design and construction to deliver a higher quality floor?
- Do you want to minimise defects for an overall longer lasting, better performing slab?
- Do you want to find out how you have the potential to change how you design and construct floors in Australia?
The seminars were held in Melbourne and Sydney, where CoGri Group Managing Director Kevin Dare and Face Consultants Technical Director Tony Hulett presented alternative methods to the design and construction of floors , to deliver higher quality at a lower cost. They were joined by guest speakers Brian Ims, Geotechnical Engineer of Douglas & Partners, Tony Davis of Davis, Naismith & McGovern and Tim Walker of Conslab Construction. Tania Melikian, Head of Retail Estate at DHL, also spoke in Sydney.
The experienced panel of International and Australian flooring experts helped those who attended gain a global insight into international floor design and construction. What works, what doesn’t, what costs can be saved and how Australia can benefit.
“Both events were well received” said Kevin. “We got some great feedback, and it made people sit up and question methods that they are currently using, and what they could do better. That’s exactly what we wanted to do. Brian, Tania, Tim and Tony were fantastic too, and we’d like to thank them for agreeing to come.”
